Thomas is believed to be the father of George, the first of the Kerfoot's to immigrate to Upper Canada. However, it has not been possible to positively prove this. He and his wife, Mary, resided in the right area of Ireland and are the right ages. The names, Thomas and Mary, reappear in the subsequent generations, lending additional support to the conclusion that they were the parents of George.
