Much of the information I have is from a distant cousin of my mothers. She was in contact with Katherine Koppana and she helped with the tree that I have.
She is descended from Thomas Compton 1705 and we are descended from his brother James 1723.

- regarding children and the1901 census: Selina Compton, 7 daughter of Thomas and Mary [Eliza?] should read Lily. There never was a Selina so must have been an error on the part of the census recorder and it fits in with Lily Compton's age etc. There were a further 3 sons, Maurice (my husband's father), Hubert and the youngest Victor.
