Antha Bethel Henson Lacy died Friday, August 12, 2011 in Kerrville, TX. Graveside services for Bethel will be held on Tuesday, Aug 16, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple, TX.
Bethel was born to Claudie and Dan Henson on October 30, 1914 in Oenaville, TX. She grew up in Temple and graduated from Reagan High School and Temple Jr. College completing her education and graduating from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. She was raised in the Seventh Street Methodist Church and later joined First United Methodist Church after moving from Temple and then returning.
She taught school in Mumford, at Reagan in Temple and one year in College Station.
Bethel and Francis H Lacy, Jr. married January 21, 1940 in the Seventh Street Methodist Church.
F.H. Lacy entered the military in 1941 and they moved to San Antonio, Georgia and Wisconsin. Their son, Dwight was born February 23, 1943 in La Crosse, Wisconsin at St Anne’s Hospital.
Bethel and Dwight moved back to Temple when her husband went to World War II. After the war, they lived two years at Perdue and then moved to Fairmont, West Virginia for 30 years.
Bethel was very active in the First Methodist Church Friendship Class, Civic Federation and in civic activities in West Virginia. She also belonged to book, garden, bridge, dance and supper clubs.
Bethel and F.H. returned to Temple in about 1975 and she was active in the First United Methodist Church Friendship Class and the City Federation of Momen’s Clubs. Bethel also was active with the Newcomers Club for many years.
Bethel is survived by her son, F Dwight Lacy of Kerrville; her brother Ross Henson of Dallas; a nephew, Kerry Henson and his wife Laura of Ft Worth and their children Blake and June; nieces, Angie Henson of Garland, Shellee Allison of Aubrey and her children Kyle and Crystal, and Kayla McMahan of Houston.
In addition to her husband F H Lacy, Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Claudie and Dan Henson, one brother, Darel Henson and his wife Ruth and their daughter Beverly McMahan and Ross Henson’s wife, Lila.
The family extends appreciation to Dr James Young, Plaza on the River Nursing Center and Peterson Hospice for the tender care they gave Bethel.

Shelby Ross Henson died November 8, 2011. He was born December 28, 1922 in Temple, Texas to Dan Forth and Claude Ross Henson. He graduated from Temple High School, and he was in the Class of '44 at Texas A & M University, where he received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Industrial Engineering. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II and in the Army of Occupation in Germany after the war. He fought in the Battle of Central Europe, the Battle of the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), and the Battle of the Rhine Land. As a member of the Signal Corps, he fought with the infantry and set up communication lines as soon as he reached shore on Normandy beach on D-Day.
During his early career, he taught night classes at the University of Houston. He later received an MBA from SMU and retired as a Manager of Manu-facturing from Johnson Controls, Inc. in 1982.
He married Lila Lee Grimes on December 21, 1947 in Temple. They were married for 62 years, until her death in 2009. He was a longtime resident of Richardson.
He is survived by son Kerry Henson and his wife, Laura, of Fort Worth, daughters Shellee Henson of Aubrey and Angie Henson of Garland, grandchildren June Henson of Lewisville, Blake Henson of De Pere, Wisconsin, and Kyle and Crystal Allison of Aubrey; nephew Dwight Lacy of Kerrville, and great-niece Kayla McMahan of Houston.
The family requests that donations be made to the Texas A & M University Association of Former Students or to the Alzheimer's Association . Visitation will be held at Restland Memorial Park on Monday, November 14, 2011, 6:00-8:00 pm., and graveside services will be held at Restland on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 11:00 am.

DALLAS — Services for Lila Lee Grimes Henson, 83, of Richardson, formerly of Temple, will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wildwood Chapel Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
Mrs. Henson died Saturday, Dec. 5, in Plano.
She was born on Dec. 12, 1925, to Payton Purl and Mary Gregory Grimes in Bland. She graduated from Temple High School, Temple Junior College and North Texas State College. She married Shelby Ross Henson of Temple on Dec. 21, 1947. She was a longtime resident of Richardson. She retired in 1991 from the Richardson ISD, for which she was an administrative secretary. Survivors include her husband; a son, Kerry Henson of Fort Worth; two daughters, Shellee Allison of Aubrey and Angie Henson of Garland; two sisters, Elizabeth Nelson of Rosenberg and Joyce Gregory of Duncanville; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to diabetes and/or macular degeneration research organizations.

DALLAS — Services for Lila Lee Grimes Henson, 83, of Richardson, formerly of Temple, will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wildwood Chapel Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
Mrs. Henson died Saturday, Dec. 5, in Plano.
She was born on Dec. 12, 1925, to Payton Purl and Mary Gregory Grimes in Bland. She graduated from Temple High School, Temple Junior College and North Texas State College. She married Shelby Ross Henson of Temple on Dec. 21, 1947. She was a longtime resident of Richardson. She retired in 1991 from the Richardson ISD, for which she was an administrative secretary. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Siege of Bexar Descendants.
