Born on 23 Jan 1899 in Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales. Alfred Frederick Charles died in 3rd General Western Military Hospital, Howard Gardens, Cardiff, Wales, on 29 Oct 1918; he was 19.
Alfred was a private in the Royal Army Medical Corps, Regimental/Official no.94462, and is listed on the Whitchurch Cenotaph for WW1 war casualties. He died of flue and pneumonia at the 3rd Western General Military Hospital, Howard Gardens, Cardiff. Section W.D. Maybe he got it in the trenches. He is buried at Wenvoe Church.---Cemetary Wenvoe (St. Mary) Churchyard Extension. His regimental no. was found on a document sent from the pension office to his mother. He was given a medal which I believe is called a DEBT OF HONOUR. His home was Carningle, The Philog, Whitchurch, Cardiff at the time.
