Ida Bell Orrick was born in Arkansas. She was the daughter of Samuel L. Orrick and Mary Ann Sparks. The family came to Texas and settled at Lewisville in Denton County, before 1878.
Ida married William Powell Baker on March 30, 1886 at Denton. Ida and W. P. lived in the Little Elm community. They had eight children. One son, Spurgeon, died young and is buried next to his mother and dad in the Little Elm Cemetery.

- 2 different spouses listed, 1 as Claudius “Claude” Bell and 2 as Claude Bell. 1 son Olen attributed to the first, and 3 children attributed to the 2nd: private, William Lloyd, and Ina Mae. Can I assume they are one and the same? Only 1 marriage event listed.
- At one point in their lives Claude and Lilly lived in Handley, Texas, and one day when Lilly was shopping in a department store in Fort Worth she fell and broke her hip.  She walked with a limp the rest of her life. 
- Lily ran a boarding house in Denton and kept students from the college
- Sometime between 1920 and 1924 Claude and Lilly moved to 1520 West Sycamore in Denton.  By 1930 they were living on Chestnut St, Denton.
- In the 1930’s and through the early 1940’s Claude farmed in the Lake Dallas area.
