- 1930 - April 1 news article published in Victoria Colonist announced Mr F C Green had been been chosen and would be appointed as BC’s new Surveyor-General. The aricle also talks about his career:
“Graduating as Bachelor of [Arts &] Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 1893, Mr Green was resident engineer for four years following this on railway work in New Brunswick prior to coming to British Columbia in 1897. The following year he qualified as a British Columbia land surveyor.
“In addition to his primary life interest of land surveying, Mr. Green is a civil engineer of repute, being a qualified registered professional engineer in British Columbia and having been chairman of the local branch of the Engineering Institute of Canada.
“For over thirty years he has been very actively engaged in the province in various branches of the land surveying and engineering professions. He knows this province thoroughly, and therefore comes to his new office admirably equipped in every way to fill the duties of the position.
“For some little time Mr. Green has been resident in Victoria, where he carries on the work of a consulting engineer.”
