RESEARCH NOTES
- 1902 Sep 27 1902 marriage of Frank Compton. son of H.A. Compton to Lana Blanche Brown [as published in the Pioneer newspaper]. H.A. had a son Franklin M., but on the New Brunswick vital Stats the Compton that married Lana was Benjamin Franklin Compton. This couple had twins in 1907 Esther Grace and Alfred Herbert. Couldn't find them on
any census'.

- 1911 census: no longer living with parents in PEI
- 1911 not found in NB, nor PEI, a possible Frank age 36 born Jan 1875 in ON but married to Marguaret M and teenage children listed, so probably not him. Only a few other Franks listed in Canada, none of them matches.

- 1932 news clipping, Charlottetown Guardian: Tuesday, February 2, 1932, page 8, col 2
“Long Distance Messages from Calgary - Members of the family of the late Mrs. H. A. Compton at Summerside received telephone messages of sympathy from their two absent brothers on Friday. Mr. Bruce Compton speaking from his home in Calgary expressed his deep regret at being unable to be with his sisters and brother in the time of their great affliction. He spoke to each one in turn. The messages were very clear. Another brother, Frank, in New York, was in communication with the family by telephone. Mrs. Compton’s sister, Mrs. Webber of Boston, also expressed her love and sympathy in a personal telephone message. S.”
On 24 Sep 1902 when Benjamin Franklin* was 25, he married Lana Blanche* BROWN in Moncton, NB, Canada. Born on 3 Jan 1879 in Westmoreland, New Brunswick, Canada.

- I found Benjamin F. and Lana/Blanche (she was Lana on the 1910 and Blanche on the 1920) on the 1910 and 1920 U.S. Census in New York City with children Grace and Winton. And Blanche on Boarder Crossing info Sept 18, 1919 returning to N.Y. from Moncton again Grace and Winton accompanied her. Wouldn't it be nice if they didn't keep changing their names!
- Winton was born in New Brunswick in 1908 parents Benjamin & Blanche. Nothing about
Alfred Herbert. In all places I have looked the father is always referred to as Benjamin,
so I would assume by all this, that he is not our Frank
