They had the following children:

The name "Sam" is given in Cornwall OPC Database. Yeoman.
- Married c1708 to Grace, surname unknown
- Samuel died 1765, possibly buried 10 May 1765 (ref B.Chapple).
Parish: Kilkhampton
Date: 10-May 1765
Name: Samuel CORNISH
Age:
Residence: Stibb
Register notes: yeoman

- Samuel was mentioned in Chamond's Will dated 18 Mar 1712/13.

- Will dated (before death) 8 March 1765.
Will proved (after death) 22 May 1765.
Will mentions 5 of the 6 children. [son Samuel died before him]
A partial transcription [abstraction] of the Will is as follows:
"To Daniel Cornish the Hanging Press, the Chest in the Broad Chamber and the Bedsteads in the same, the clock, Dresser, Long Table Board, Moonstone [moorestone?] trough in the cellar, Chest in the Barn and all Plough Tackle.
To Philip Cornish Moonstone [moorestone?] trough in the Brew House, Hand Malt Mill and 1/- [one shilling].
To daughter Grace Ashton 1/-.
To son-in-law William Boundy 1/-.
Residue to daugter Dorcas Burnard, and [she] to be Execotrix.
Witnesses: Christopher Hopgood and Philip Bragg." [courtesy Eric Marshman, Barry Chapple]

Further notes on Samuel’s 1765 will:
- Samuell (as the document spells it) says "Being weak in Body But of sound mind memory & understanding" so apparently he knew his death was probably imminent.
- He specifies that he wants his executrix to pay all his debts within two months of his death
- He specifies his relationships to the people, including son Daniell Cornish, son Philip Cornish.
- The residue to Dorcas Burnard: "And after all my Debts Legacys and Funerall Charges be well and Truly paid I Give Devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods and Effects unto my Daughter Dorcas Burnard"
- He and his witnesses were all able to sign their names
- The wrapper doesn't specify anything about Bodmin (which the abstract does) but it does say:
"Kilkhampton
22 May 1765
The Will of one Samuell
Cornish lately Deced
proved in Comon form
Before the Revd Mr James
Walker Clk Bachelor of
Law [official Cr.?]"
- A second separate note on the wrapper about the executrix is more difficult to read. I think it's indicating that the executrix has been sworn in but there is more detail there than just that.
- [the presense of] witnesses mean that Samuel likely didn't write the will in his own hand, as witnesses weren't required for a [self] hand-written will

RESEARCH NOTES
- Sources vary on parentage and date of birth/baptism.
* born 1695 Poughill, Samuel son of Alexander and Elizabeth Cornish [I think this Samuel is too young to have a daughter in 1709 - he would have been 14 - although possible, and may be why we can’t find his marriage record?]
OR
* born/baptised1684 Poughill, Samuel son of Gideon Cornish & Susanna Weeks; Gideon the son of Phillip Cornish & Mary Gyste; Phillip the son of John Cornish & Prescilla
Baptism: 14-Sep 1684 1684 Poughill Sam CORNISH son Gideon Susanah (OPC site)
May have been Bap 14 Sep 1684 (son, no Christian name given) at Poughill, Cornwall (ref IGI and findmypast). The name "Sam" is given in Cornwall OPC Database. Yeoman. [I think this is the more likely one based on age of children]

- Marr 28 Dec 1712 at Kilkhampton of John Cornish to Grace ELLIOTT (ref Phillimores in Cornwall OPC).

RESEARCH NOTES:
- first name listed as both Joh and John in baptismal records. Baptism may have occurred on Aug 2 or Aug 25, 1687
- possible marriages:
* John Cornish & Grace Elliott, Kilkhampton 28 Dec 1712
* John Cornish & Martha Martyn, Poughill 6 Aug 1719
* John Cornish & Elizabeth Huddle, Launcells 28 Dec 1725
One of them [John’s] is presumed to have married Martha Martyn; she was bap 1695 which is closer in age to the one on the next page so I have placed that marriage there. Based on their ages and the connection here with Kilkhampton, it is more likely that it is this John Cornish who married Grace Elliott;
- There are two John Cornishes of very similar ages in Poughill (1687 and 1690).
There are two probable burials, one on 8 Aug 1741 and one on 24 Sep 1745 but no further information is given on the burials (ref Cornwall OPC Database for both and the parish record for the second in Family Search Record Collection for Poughill, page 115).
One of them is presumed to have married Martha Martyn; she was bap 1695 which is closer in age to John (1690) so I have placed that marriage there.
On 28 Dec 1712 when John was 25, he married Grace ELLIOTT in Kilkhampton, Cornwall, England. Grace died in 1725 in KIlkhampton, Cornwall, England. Buried on 11 Sep 1725 in KIlkhampton, Cornwall, England.
