- in 1841 census, there was a John Honey, age 85, living in Bridgerule/Holsworthy, Devon [familysearch.org] - could this be a son? - also a Margarett Honey, age 85. Also in 1841: a Sarah Honey, age 84 living in Chasrles The Martyr, Plymouth Devon
- did this John have a son John HONEY who married a Mary CUTTING in 1773, Bridgerule Devon? - witnessed by John and Elizabeth Cornish. No records can be found to supstantiate this.
Another researcher thinks it more likely that this younger John (b ca1753?) was the son of William HONEY (b1725, a brother of this John Honey who married Grace Cornish) and Grace PASCOE. who married 1753 in Morwenstow. [children’ts baptism for William and Grace in Morwenstow: John HONEY 5 Aug 1753, Grace HONEY 4 Jul 1756, Richard Honey 2 Mar 1760]
Parents of William HONEY and other siblings (John b 1722 Bridgerule, Elizabeth b 1728 Bridgerule and Anne b 1732 Bridgerule) were John HONEY (b1699 Jacobstow) and Margaret SHORT (b1700) and married 1722 at Poughill
Parents of John were Samuel HONEY (b1671 Jacobstow) and ???
And his parents were Samuel HONEY (b????) and Elizabeth SAUNDERS (b1653 Week St Mary??) married 1668 at Jacobstow.
Parents to Margaret were George SHORT (b???) and Elizabeth HORRELL (b???) married 1698 at Poughill.
