IRA PRESTON
Ira Preston, son of James and Sylvia Preston, was born on Nov. 6,1877 [gravestone also says 1877, memorial says 1878?], at Dade Co, Mo., and departed this life on April 14, 1957, in the Baptist hospital at Springfield, Mo., where he had been a patient for one week. Making his age at the time of passing 79 years, 5 months and 8 days.
On Nov. 21, 1897, at Dade County, Mo., he was united in marriage to Rosetta Fry, and to this union were born four children.
Those left to mourn his passing are: his wife, Rosetta, 2 daughters, Mrs Lucy Andrews, Iola, Kans., Mrs. Myrtle Nelson, West Plain, Mo., 2 sons Alvin and Allen of Cabool One brother, Edward of Santa Cruz, Calif., 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Cabool Baptist church with Rev. Verdaine Gibson officiating.
Burial was in the Cabool cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry. Pallbearers were Harold Marshall, Dallas Reese, Lloyd Adams, Jack McGowen, Jim Sigman and Almon Reese.
