RESEARCH NOTES
- Originally believed this Alfred married a Mary Deehan, moved to Uruguay and died there in 1887, age 29. Can’t find a marriage in England for Alfred and Mary [this is a different Alfred]
- from another researcher: “[I think that this] Alfred John married Mercy Huntingford in the Hambledon district of Surrey in the 2nd quarter of 1881 (2A-185). The couple had two children, Mercy Alice (1883) and Alfred Reginald (1886). The good news is that AJ did not die young [in Uruguay] but lived until 1946. So far as I have been able to discover there is no link to South America and neither Alfred John or Alfred Reginald ever went there. [I will be checking further.]”
- There is no 1861 census entry for Alfred John as the census for most of Wateringbury for that year was accidentally destroyed and no copy remains.
- A researcher on ancestry lists this Alfred John’s parents as being ALBERT Boorman (1826 Brighton Sussex - ) and Emma Everson (1822 Rumbolds Buildings Shoreditch St Leonard -1915 63 Davisie Rd, Eltham Kent) who were married 1854 in Plumstead St Nicholas London - it lists all the 7 children that really belong to ALFRED and Emma Jane Boorman
In Q2 1881 when Alfred John was 24, he married Mercy HUNTINGFORD in Hambledon Reg Dist, Surrey, England. Born in 1856 in Haslemeere, Surrey, England.
They had the following children:
