- The 1678 ADC will of John Boorman of Cranbrook (1616-1678), William's son - abstract identified his son as a John Boorman (b. abt 1653).

From other researchers:
- John (a clothier) was bap. 4 Aug 1616 in Cranbrook, bur. 10 Oct 1678 in Cranbrook. He made a will there on 7 Oct 1678 that was probated in the Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury (in 1678, but not sure of the date). His wife was Susanna Joy. They had six children (five daughters, one son named John). The birth or baptism of their son John (b. abt 1653) does NOT show up in any online searchable data bases. The baptisms of all five of their daughters do show up.
On 9 Sep 1645 when John was 29, he married Susanna JOY in Boughton Monchelsea, Kent, England. Born in 1621. Christened on 8 Jun 1621 in Boughton-Monchelsea, Kent, England. Susanna died in Egerton or Cranbrook, Kent, England, in 1686/7; she was 66. Buried on 17 Jan 1686 in Cranbrook, Kent, England.

RESEARCH NOTES
- one researcher has 6 children listed
- another researcher lists a 7th child, another Elizabeth (1664- ) who married a Richard Hodgkins (1660- ) and had 5 children: Thomas (1695-1695), Richard (1697-1797), William (1698- ), Elizabeth (1706- ) and Richard (1710- ). If the first daughter Elizabeth lived to marry, I don’t know if this is accurate.
On 16 Sep 1646 when Margaret was 28, she married Robert HAYWARD, son of John HAYWARD & Ursula PETER, in St Dunstans, Cranbrook, Kent, England. Born in 1622 in Kent, England. Christened on 25 Aug 1622 in Cranbrook, Kent, England. Robert died in Cranbrook, Kent, England, bef Sep 1684; he was 62.

- 1684 died before 16.9.1684 when will was probated. Cranbrook weaver. He died after 12 Apr 1680 when the will was made.

SUMMARY OF WILL of Robert Hayward or Heyward
Robert Heyward, broadweaver of Cranbrooke, Kent, made his will 12 Apr 1680 (32nd year of the reign of King Charles II)
Sole Executor: William Heyward, oldest son
Overseers: Robert Delton & John Bennett, both of Cranbrooke
Estate (residue after debts and expenses) divided equally into 6 parts, inherited by:
William Heyward, oldest son, 2 parts within 1 month of father's death
Margaret Heyward (wife of George Hope?), daughter, 1 part within 3 months of father's death
Elizabeth Heyward, daughter, 1 part within 6 month of father's death or when she turns 24 and not before
Judith Heyward, daughter, 1 part within 9 months of feather's death or when she turns 24 and not before
Isaac Heyward, youngest son, 1 part within 12 months of feather's death or when he turns 24 and not before
Probate: 6 Sep 1684

RESEARCH NOTES
- name variants include Hayward, Haywood, Heyward, Heward, Haward.

- The 1684 probate of Robert Heyward (will dated 1680) lists wife Margaret and children William, Elizabeth, Judith and Elizabeth - only 1 Elizabeth.  The will also implies (but doesn't declare outright) that Elizabeth, Judith and Isaac had not yet reached the age of 24.  [The will summary included this clause: "Elizabeth Heyward, daugher, 1 part within 6 month of father's death or when she turns 24 and not before".] In 1680, the criticial year of birth would be 1856.  Elizabeth's 1855 baptism date would make her a little bit older by about a year.  If this clause was taken as a true indication of her age, someone might therefore assume there was a later Elizabeth born and the older one died young.  But the clause allows for the eventuality of a child being both under or over the age of 24.  It is not clear cut.  So we are giving it the benefit of the doubt and are open to the possibility that the age clauses might have been standard for single children mentioned in wills and it could still apply to someone over 24.
