482. Annie Pope THOMAS (Eleanor Mary* COMPTON10, Thomas Compton9, Harry Childeroy8, Thomas7, Ann6, John5, John4, Tristram3, John “the Elder”2, Edward1). Born in 1866. Annie Pope died in Chipman, NB, Canada, on 25 Apr 1938; she was 72. Buried in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside, Prince Co, PEI, Canada.

-1881 Census shows Anna P. Thomas, age 23. living in the household of her aunt & uncle, Benjamin and Virginia Mills.
- According to "Roads to Summerside" she owned interesting Compton family miniatures
- Had 4 daughters ( as per Layton Compton), one of whom married a Brennan (as per p24 of Roads to Summerside)

RESEARCH NOTES:
- if first child was born in 1882, it seems unlike that she was born in 1866 as stated. Is likely the Anna P. Thomas (age 23 - 1858) listed in the househoold of Benjamin S. and Virginia (Compton) Mills in Summerside - her aunt and uncle.
On 22 Jun 1881 when Annie Pope was 15, she married Nelson Roland ALWARD in St Mary Anglican Church, Summerside, PEI, Canada. Born in 1849 in NB, Canada. Nelson Roland died in 1924; he was 75. Buried in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside, Prince Co, PEI, Canada. Occupation: Store Clerk.

- In 1895 Nelson was working in Dress Goods at the newly-constucted Holman's Store in Summerside.
