This afternoon the flag of Messrs Compton and Co’s office, Lower Queen street, was flying at half mast, out of respect to the memory of Mr Thomas Compton, second son of Mr F E Compton, who died at his parents’ residence, Ponsonivy [?], at noon today at the early age of nineteen, after a month’s illness from typhoid.
