On Horace (Henry) Comptons marriage license to Louise Pribbernow, he gives his parents names as Ambrose Compton and Isabelle Lennon.

Horace is another problem [like his father Ambrose]. His name was Horace Frank Compton as far as we know. He used Harry & Henry at various times. He also used various dates for his birth, and birthplace. Both he, and his father Ambrose were prone to embellish the truth at times. We do not know who Horace's mother was. No birth records can be found up to this time, there may be records but not found yet. It is most likely that Mary Jane Leeman is his mother. We find 1886-7 as the year of Horace's birth on more records that any other year. As Ambrose was a womanizer, there may have been another woman in there. Mother Isabelle Lemon/Lennon?
Horace was married before Louise, and there were two daughters. One died at about 16, the other one has been lost to history.

WORK: He was a yard foreman at Edison Company [lumber] for 3 years when he lived in New London, WI. Worked for Merrit Engineering Co. when he lived in Lockport NY, and later at Rockford, IL.
