Seventh Generation (Continued)
260. Rachel BOORMAN (John6, Thomas5, Thomas4, William3, Thomas2, William1). Born in 1802.

RESEARCH NOTES
- 2 other researchers say she was born 1802. One says she married a ???? Taylor in 1822

- I currently list 2 different Rachel Boorman’s , both born about 1802:
Rachel Boorman (1802) d/o John Boorman (1775 - 1853) and Rachel Heath [this Rachel]*
Rachel Boorman (1802) d/o James Boorman and Mary Wood
Have both these been proven, or are they the same person?
Another researcher says: One tree did put her as sister to my John Thomas B (1804) [parents John Boorman and Rachel Heath] but I discounted it as her baptism wasn't mentioned with John TB in the Cripplegate records and I think it would have been if they were siblings. [This researcher therefore believes that there is only one Rachel born 1802.]

I think the following marriage refers to a different, younger Rachel Boorman (1834 - 1911 ) d/o John Boorman (1804-1882) and Charlotte Crouch. :
- 1863 Marriage, Registered at Maidstone Sep 1863 v. 2a, p. 795
Stephen Taylor and Rachel Boorman
Stephen, widower, Rachel, spinst. Married Bethel Chapel, Union St Maidstone, of Marden, Kent. Stephen's father, William Taylor deceased, farm lab, Rachel's father, John Boorman, farmer. Thomas Rofe, Minister offic. Wits:Thomas Pearce, Jane Jenner For ages see 1871 census ...
- 1871 census has Rachel Taylor age 36 [born abt 1835] married to a Stephen Taylor age 71 [born abt 1800 - a generation older than Rachel]. So this likely refers to a different Rachel, (1834-1911) probably daughter of a different John Boorman (1804 - 1882) and Charlotte Crouch.
261. John Thomas BOORMAN (John6, Thomas5, Thomas4, William3, Thomas2, William1) . Born on 18 Feb 1804 in Birchly Farm, Biddenden, Kent, England. Christened in Baptist, Biddenden, Kent, England. John Thomas died in Kent, England, on 11 May 1882; he was 78. Buried abt May 1882 in Tilden Baptist Church, Smarden, Kent, England. Occupation: Farmer Of 130 Acres. Religion: Baptist.

RESEARCH NOTES
- from another researcher regarding name and birth:
“John Thomas Boorman 1804.  John's (with no Thomas) first registration is a Certificate of birth signed by John and Rachel Boorman as parents of his birth at Birchly Farm, Biddenden, signed 'X' by Jane Collins who attended the birth.  It is interesting about the Thomas part.  This is a definite though.  He appears to be the only surviving child of John Boorman (1775-1853) and Rachel Heath Boorman and was registered several times, the first  is a very clear handwritten entry in the Honey Lane Particular Baptists Meeting, Tenterden records "John Thomas Boorman son of John Boorman and Rachel his wife of the parish of Biddenden in the County of Kent, Yeoman, was born February 18 1804 and registered July 26 1815 by me Joseph Exall? Protestant Dissenting Minister.
John (1804) is further registered at Cripplegate [region of London] after 20 July 1837 just as John, son of John (1775) and Rachel Boorman.  Underneath is an entry for his own son John (1832) Boorman and Rachel (1834) Boorman, son and daughter of John and Charlotte Boorman.  (Their tragic brother Mark was later and registered in 1838 under the new system brought out in the UK.)  Beneath that is an entry of Thomas Boorman, son of Samuel and Rebecca Boorman.  Some other researchers think Samuel (1797) and John (1775) are brothers but the years between their births cause me concern.  However as they obviously went together to register the children there has to be a connection somehow. ”

- one source lists this John with 2 siblings: Rachel and Mark. Note that this John also has 3 children with the same names (by his first wife). Need to confirm this is not an error.

- baptism from thegenealogist website: Register of Births Honey Lane Particular Baptists Meeting in the parish of Tenterden Kent from 1780-1837, Baptism RG4 / PIECE 1013 / FOLIO 19:

[Note: John was registered as John Boorman in all other documentation, this is the only one found when he is described as John Thomas Boorman.]

- Sarah Osborne is John Boorman's second marriage, name of Osborne is not proved but Sarah and John lived out their old age together according to censuses, Charlotte died young, aged 51.
On 15 Nov 1831 when John Thomas was 27, he first married Charlotte CROUCH, daughter of William CROUCH & Mary, in Marden, Kent, England. Born on 27 Jan 1805 in Chart Sutton, Kent, England. Christened on 31 Mar 1805 in Ebenezer Independant Chapel, Sutton Valence, Kent, England. Charlotte died on 8 Mar 1856; she was 51. RESEARCH NOTES
- from another researcher: “Charlotte's parents are definitely William and Mary Crouch [as opposed to William’s first wife Mercy]. They crop up on other entries, ie. as grandparents of John (1832) birth record.   I have an old style record of International Genealogical Index entry showing
Charlotte Crouch
Birth 27 Jan 1805
Christening 31 March 1805 Ebenezer etc, Sutton Valence.  Her parents shown as William Crouch and Mary.
I have another handwritten entry for her baptism in the baptists records ' Charlotte the daughter of William and Mary Crouch farmer in the parish of Chart Sutton (Kent), was born January 27 1805 and baptised March 31 1805 by me Samuel Beaufoy.'”

RESEARCH NOTES
- from another researcher:
“John's [Boorman, 1853] death cert says Biddenden for place of death of Aged Debility, probably at Birchley farm which was his home. [Grandson?] Mark was in attendance and registered death.”
- there may not have been a son Mark?
- one source that this son Mark (wife’s name unknown), had a son Mark (1838 Benenden -15 Jan 1880) who married Jane Hosmer in 1863 and had 7 children.
However, from a different researcher: 1838 birth certificate transcript, birth shown as 29 May 1838, name Mark, Father John Boorman, Farmer, mother Charlotte Boorman, formerly Crouch
