Leon C. DAVIS Dies in City Hospital 81 years old a resident of Cherokee County most of his life. died at 5 o'clock yesterday evening in the city hospital. He had been in ill health the past two years and had been in a serious condition the past five weeks.
Mr. Davis was born Nov. 24 1872 at Edenburg, PA. He was eight years old when his parents came to Cherokee county and settle on a farm five miles south of Columbus.
Mr. Davis attended several dairy schools about the country. He lived in Washington several years and operated a furniture store in Baxter Springs during the early 1920's. For the past 20 years he has been operator of the Knights of Pythias club room located about the First National Bank.
Survivors include three brothers, Dr. F. S. Davis of Columbus, Earl Davis of Sumner, Wash., and archie Davis of Idaho: and two sisters Mrs. Ella Gray of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Inez Stover of Parsons.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a. m. Thursday in the Jorden funeral home. The Rev. B. W. Hughes will officate. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.

Mrs. Lottie Rose Clark Succumbs in California
Mrs Lottie Clark, a former Columbus resident, died early Tuesday morning in Los Angeles, Calif., following a two years illness. Her age was 71 years. Mrs. Clark suffered a stroke about three years ago and had never recovered her health. Although she improved adn was up and about the house a part of the time.
Mrs. Clark was the eldest duaghter of E. B. Davis of Columbus. She leaves several grown and married children and several brothers and sisters.

Dr. Fred Davies Dies in Sleep
Dr. Fred S. Davis, Columbus chiropractor, died in his sleep at his home, 211 West Walnut, early yesterday morning.
The body was discovered when neighbors failed to see Dr. Davis yesterday and late in the afternoon called Chief of Police Carl Christiansen. Mr. Christiansen, Coroner Jack Winter and Sheriff Dayton Evans went in the home, which was locked from the inside. A storm windo was removed to gain entrance and Dr. Davis was found in his bed. Death was attributed to natural causes and the time of death was set between 6 an 9 a.m.
Dr. Davis, who was 83 years of age, was born in Edenburg, PA., the son of Edgar D. and Elizabeth A. Sparks Davis. When a child, his parents moved to Columbus, where he attened the Potter school and was a graduate of the Columbus High scholl. For several years, he practiced the barber trade at Colfax, Washington. He then atteneded the Colvin Chiropractic College at Wichita and after graduating in 1924, returned to Columbus to practice his profession until his death.
Dr. Davis was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Kansas Chiroprators association, and the Cherokee Count Sportsman club.
Surviors include two sisters, Mrs. Ella M. Gray, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Inez Stover, Parsons, Kans.: two brothers, Earl Davis and Archie Davis both of Sumner, Wash,; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jorden funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Ronald Starr officiating. Burual will be in the City Cemetery.

Edgar Bryant Davis had another child. His name is Archie Bryant Davis. He is buried in Sumner, WA. I hope that you can link his name in with your information. Archie Bryant Davis is my Great Grandfather on my mothers side. He and his wife, Winnie did a lot of family history, while they were alive.
