RESEARCH NOTES
- According to another researcher, there was a (different?) John Boorman buried 18 May 1681 in woolen at Cranbrook. That John may also have been (in 1676-80) “rated for house and lands in Hartley where he lived, and other lands of Mr Plumer, rent £21. Subsequently occupied by Thomas Boorman.” Which John?
Abt 1648 when John was 25, he first married Elizabeth GILBERT in Cranbrook, Kent, England. Born in 1618 in Cranbrook, Kent, England. Christened on 8 Nov 1618 in Cranbrook, Kent, England. Elizabeth died in Cranbrook, Kent, England, abt 1659; she was 41. Buried on 4 Jan 1659 in Cranbrook, Kent, England.
They had the following children:
87i.
88ii.
John BOORMAN (Died as Child) (~1652-~1657)
89iii.
90iv.
John BOORMAN (1658-1719)
Aft 1658 when John was 35, he second married Frances. Frances died in Jul 1680 in Egerton, Kent, England.
66. BOORMAN (Edward3, John2, John1). Born in 1623 in Cranbrook, Kent, England. died in Cranbrook, Kent, England, in Aug 1623; he was <1. Buried on 5 Aug 1623 in Cranbrook, Kent, England.

- The handwritten entry in the Cranbrook parish register does not have a first name, but rather reads "a chrisomer of Edward." The word "chrisomer" was used in the Church of England to describe an infant buried in his/her baptismal robe (called a "chrisom"). This infant child of Edward and Margaret most likely died at birth or shortly thereafter, before he/she was named or christened/baptized.
