- from another researcher:
“Note that Rachel, thought to be Barham's sister-in-law, is visiting her half brother George Ballard next door on census night [which census - 1861?]. This gives further credence to the family members connections. Ages fit with known details of the Heath and Ballard. Rachel's actual residence is thought to be with her son at Worsenden, having left Birchley following her husband John's death in 1853 (evidenced by her death certificate).
Later clarification: “Rachel died at Worsenden (Farm) in Biddenden of senile debility. She is living there with her son John (1804) and died there according to her d-cert and I believe she lived there after she was widowed. In 1861 census she was visiting her half brother George Ballard and is noted as visitor. Barham Boorman and 2nd wife Elzbeth were living next door! All very conveniently linking up info!”

RESEARCH NOTES
- from another researcher: “Some other researchers think Samuel [Boorman, who married Rebecca] (b.1797) and John [Boorman, who married Rachel] (b.1775) are brothers but the years between their births cause me concern. However as they obviously went together to register the children [‘s births at Cripplegate, London] there has to be a connection somehow.”
- Not sure if he really had a son Mark. There is a Mark listed with them in the 1841 census, but too young to be a son; probably a grandson. Can’t yet find record of an earlier Mark.
- Notes on death certificate from another researcher:
“The death certificate shows that Mark Boorman registered the death and was in attendance at the time. In the light of no other Mark Boormans being identified in this family, it is thought to be his grandson, who was 15 or 16 at the time of the death. Any thoughts of whether John had a son called Mark have not been proved, though one has been suggested as being born 1808, but only one and no proof.”
She later said “John's death cert says Biddenden for place of death of Aged Debility, probably at Birchley farm which was his home. Son Mark was in attendance and registered death.” Mark son or grandson?
- were John and Rachel first cousins?
- Another researcher says:
Lived at Worsenden and Birchley, Biddenden.
