The Will of Harriet Salome Noake late of Lymington in the County of Southampton spinster who died 19 October 1881 at Lymington was proved at the Principal Registry by Fanny Banks of Lymington spinster the niece the sole Executrix.

From other researchers:
- Harriet had a school and never married.
- Harriet Noake mentions that Harry Compton’s father shut away in his study, presumably reading as she wrote that he “was a very learned man”.

- from http://www.communigate.co.uk/hants/comptonofchitte...amp;response_id=1448 [from carros]
“… a letter from Harriet Salome Noake, the fifth child of William and Frances Mount Noake (nee Compton) … is dated 28 July 1881. Part of it reads as follows:
"The downfall of the present family of Compton was the bad conduct of my great grandmother. She was a Miss Frances Mount Childeroy, an heiress, married our great grandfather at 15 - had ten children, then eloped with her groom. She lived to be ninety and unfortunately had a large jointure (?) on the Lains estate which was entailed..."
… this letter suggests that Frances Mount Childeroy (m. Thomas Compton, 1731-95) is the grandmother of Frances Mount Compton (m. William Noake)….”

and from “tartantammy”:
“Frances Mount Noake nee Compton b. 1784 is the 2nd child of Thomas Compton b. @1756 and Mary Elizabeth Blatt b. @1760, m. 1780 Grateley Hants.Thomas' father also Thomas b.@1729 m. Frances Mount Childeroy b. @1739. This makes F M Childeroy the grandmother. F M Noake is my 4 x gt grandmother. I am happy to send any info on the Compton or the Noake families.
