- Another [adopted?] daughter Gladys was born to Irene (Yeo) THOMAS, sister of Eva (Yeo) PICKERING. Gladys was raised by Eva and family. Probably no formal adoption.
On 11 Aug 1911 when Eva Lauretta was 34, she married Leonard James PICKERING, son of William PICKERING (1840-1906) & Caroline Ellen TANTON (1841-1903). Born on 20 Jun 1879 in St Eleanors, Prince Co, PEI, Canada. Leonard James died on 18 Jun 1946; he was 66.

Muriel’s granddaughter comments in 2013: “Yes this is my grandmother Muriel.  It is so neat to see this photo.  I haven’t seen many pictures of her earlier than the 1960s.  The house behind them has the same gingerbread trim on the verandah that is in other pictures that I have of the farm house.  I remember the flower garden from when I was a teenager in the 1970s.  If she grew the same type of flowers back in 1946, there should have been hollyhock, foxglove, pinks.  I wish I could remember more of the flowers. I’ll have to ask my Dad if he recognizes the stove that is on the verandah.

- From another researcher: My mom knew Ralph Compton (He might have been called Edmund.) and his son Alfred (Ned). [who] they lived 2 fields away. [Her son Bob Butt] met Ian briefly about 10 or 11 years ago and he pointed out the location of where [his] great grandfather, George Compton, had his farm - pretty certain it was on Compton Rd. [Bob’s] grandfather took over the farm upon the sudden death of his father, George Compton, in 1903.
