From other researchers:
- a son baptised 1791 in Dallington Sussex - name said to be Thomas North Wakeham Ashburnham Richardson. As this was the same name as a later son, I assumed he had died young. [this now seems incorrect]

- another tree on ancestry says there was a William North Wakeham Richardson born 12 Aug 1791 Dallington, christened 5 Oct 1791 Dallington, to this family. [PAF 2012* (Old Tree) by Gloria Lane [this matches the christening record above]

- An Ontario researcher suggests he emigrated to Ontario in 1805 as a young man [perhaps still a teen although he claimed he was older], and was a pioneer of Newmarket for a time. About 1811 he returned to England and joined the army - 1st Battalion, 4th (King’s Own) Regiment of Foot - returning to America as a foot soldier andwas wounded at New Orleans and Waterloo. On full pension, he later returned to the colony, built a big brick house and went into business as a conveyancer and land sales agent. He is buried in Newmarket (died 1871) with a wife Elizabeth. There is a slight “age discrepancy [probably] a fabrication by him to cover the fact he was much younger than he appeared when he arrived in 1805. His tale that he left North titles and estates behind to settle in the colony doesn't check out. A little added colour to get a teenager acceptance, I presume.”

- Their graves are mounted in a cairn in the Newmarket Ontario pioneer cemetery.

- 1871: his death notice in The Newmarket Era, January 6, 1871:
“Died
“At his residence, Newmarket, on the 1st inst., Major North W. Richardson, aged 84 years; formerly of Sussex, England. Major Richardson was among the oldest of our inhabitants. In years gone by he took an active part in politics and the Conservative ---?, and during the Rebellion of ’37 ranged himself on the side of the Government Party; but for the past fifteen years he has lived quite retired. As a neighbour he was kind; and as a member of the Episcopalian Church, devoted and faithful”

- Photo of plaque on a memorial cairn in Pioneer Cemetery, Newmarket Ontario, taken Mar 2015 says

Died Jan. 1. 1871, ae 83 years 5 mo’s.
Another plaque beside it says:

Died Dec. 6. 1860, ae. 67 y’rs.

- 1933 The profile of three generations of the family ran Jan. 6, 1933, page 1 of The Era, and those editions are available on line at:  http://news.ourontario.ca/newmarket/search [neither 1871 nor 1933 are yet available online]

RESEARCH NOTES
- Christened in Dallington Sussex, about 20km NW of Hastings on England’s SE coast, ~10km from Battle.

- Family history newspaper article published 6 Jan 1933 in Newmarket Era, Newmarket York Ontario, says he was born Wimple, Devon which is near the south/east coast, NE of Exeter. This is quite a long distance from Dallington, so is this really the same family???
On 19 Jul 1814 when William North* Wakeham was 22, he first married Jane CASE in Widecombe in the Moor, Devon, England. Born ca 1795 in England.

RESEARCH NOTES
- Did she died before her husband retunred to Ontario, or were they separated/divorced? According to another researcher, she did not accompany him to Canada. If this is so, then she could not have been the mother of his son Harry.
- Or perhaps perhaps Jane and Elizabeth are the same person, declaring her proper first name (Jane) on her official marriage record, but perhaps known by a second name Elizabeth??? [purely a guess, as we can’t find any records other than her marriage, and the death of an Elizabeth in Ontario.
- George Case was an affiliate/partner of North Richardson - perhaps her brother. From another researcher: “in 1837 [George] Case is  listed as owning a farm on the east side of our Holland River valley (Newmarket is in the valley) [Ontario].”
They had one child:
92i.
Harry RICHARDSON (1833-1911)
William North* Wakeham second married Elizabeth . Born in 1793. Elizabeth died on 6 Dec 1860; she was 67. Buried in Pioneer Cemetery, Newmarket, York, Ontario, Canada.

From other researchers:
- 1815 Married her cousin, James, the son of Henry and Martha Richardson.
James [Richardson], the son of Henry and Martha and his wife, who was also his cousin, Eliza Ann Erving Richardson. Eliza Ann was born in Dallington, Sussex on 22/09/1793 to Thomas (brother of Henry) and Elizabeth Ashburnham North. She was christened in Dallington on 08/11/1793.
- marriage date of James R and Eliza Ann Irving - 05 04 1815

- 1815 listed as granddaughter and heir Eliza Anne Irvine nee Richardson, wife of James Richardson of Brede, farmer, in a conveyance document associated with the will of her grandfather Rev William North (who died 1800).

- I wonder if her mother, Elizabeth Ashburnham North wasn't related to the Earl of Ashburnham who was a principal landowner in that part of Sussex- Dallington, Mountfield area. Perhaps North was the name of a first husband before she married Thomas ?
On 5 Apr 1815 when Eliza Ann Irving was 21, she married James RICHARDSON (29) , son of Henry RICHARDSON (10) (~1756-) & Martha PROCTER (~1755-1835), in Brede, East Sussex, England. Born abt 1789 in Sussex, England. Christened on 31 Mar 1791 in St George Church, Brede, East Sussex, England. James died in 96 High Street, Hastings, Sussex, England, on 22 Dec 1856; he was 67. - 1856 Sussex Burial Index: James Richardson, 27 Dec 1856, St George Brede, 67y

RESEARCH NOTES:
- A James and Eliza/Elizabeth Richardson are listed in the Brede Baptism transcripts, listing 5 children baptised between 1816 and 1822 - could be this James.
- think James Sr. was the one buried in Brede on 27/12/1856 and his wife died in Tenterden district, Kent in 1877.
- Death certificate difficult to read - probably died twenty second of December, 1856 (death was registered 23 Dec 1856) - died age 67.
- James Richardson, brother of Henry P. Interestingly he died in High Street, Hastings. What on earth was James , a farmer, doing there? High Street is in the part of Hastings known as the Old Town, and was very much an area for the fishing families (and smuggling). Elizabeth Bailey (the informant on the death cert) and husband Mark were living at 96 High Street in 1851. I wondered if Elizabeth might have been connected to the Richardson family but her maiden name was Hard and her birthplace was given as Eastbourne.
They had the following children:
87i.
Albenia RICHARDSON (Died as Child) (1816-1832)
88ii.
89iii.
90iv.
33. Thomas Wakeham Ashburnham RICHARDSON (Thomas4, Henry3, Henry2, Richard1). Born on 12 Aug 1796 in Dallington, Sussex, England. Christened on 8 Aug 1796 in St Giles, Dallington, Sussex, England. RESEARCH NOTES:
- From a descendant of Thomas Wakeham Richardson and wife Jemima Barnes Apps via their daughter Angelina (born 1828 [before her parents married], died 1851) and then via Angelina's illegitimate son Clement (born 1851). Angelina and Clement appear under the surname Apps in the GRO Indexes, not under Richardson. Jemima Barnes was Jemima Barnes Apps according to the marriage entry on the Sussex Marriage CD when she married Thomas Wakeham Richardson at Brede on 5 November 1829. However, as Thomas W Richardson was Angelina's father, (according to the maintenance order and baptism) then she could have used the surname Richardson legally when her parents Thomas W and Jemima married. Clement appears in the Richardson household as their son at 1861, rather than as grandson. He emigrated to Chicago, Illinois, USA and married there.

From other researchers:
- Jemima Barnes Apps (abt 1810-1877) was the daughter of William Barnes Apps (1784-1867) and Elizabeth Ellis (1786-1851), who married 3 Sep 1805 at St. George's, Brede.
- Her father William Barnes Apps was the 'illegitimate' son of Mary Apps and Samuel Barnes, born just before his parent's marriage in the Apr quarter of 1784.
- Jemima's brother, William Apps (1813-1901) married Philadelphia Foots in 1834 and they came to Australia in 1839. They were early pioneers of the Goulburn district of New South Wales [Australia].
