RESEARCH NOTES
From another researcher:
- Born 2 Mar 1792 (Headcorn Baptist records) he married Mary Ann Skinner at Dymchurch 20 Jul 1816. At some point between 1831-1841 William and Mary Ann moved to Maidstone.
- I am pretty sure that I have found William's death in Maidstone Mar 1841 although the records give his age as 53 rather than 49.

- 5 children listed from various sources: John, Thomas, Davis?, Elizabeth, Jane.
Later added Willliam and Mary Ann from baptism index.

Was this William a wheelwright in Staplehurst who had a daughter Jane who married a William Robers there in 1850???

In Dymchurch Kent there was a William & Mary, and a William & Sarah have children about the same time (c1820). William and Sarah had Sarah bap 9 Sep 1821, Frederick 5 Dec 1819, James 22 Jun 1817.
I don’t yet know who the William and Sarah are connected.

Also in Dymchurch, a William and Elizabeth had Rachel bap 6 Aug 1815 - how connected?
On 20 Jul 1816 when William was 24, he married Mary Ann SKINNER in St Peter & St Paul, Dymchurch, Kent, England. Born abt 1791 in Kent, England. Mary Ann died in Maidstone Reg Dist, Kent, England, in Q1 1861; she was 70. Buried on 18 Feb 1861 in Maidstone, Kent, England.

RESEARCH NOTES
From other researchers researcher:
- William's widow Mary Ann probably is on the 1841 census at Pells Court, Stone Street, Maidstone I'm fairly sure Mary's occupation in 1841 is 'Dealer in Fish' Her son Thomas was listed as a fishmonger in both 1861 and 1871
- In 1851 Mary Ann is living in Carey Street, Maidstone with 2 daughters (Elizabeth & Jane) and 4 month old grandson Edward. I think this must be Edward John Boorman 4th quarter Maidstone 1850. Vol 5-351. But who are Edward's parents - daughter Jane (18) is perhaps most likely as she is shown as married but she is still named Jane Boorman?
- In 1861 Mary Ann has died and son John is now head of the household. Sister Elizabeth is now 30 (8 years older than in 1851) and Jane is 21 which is 3 years older than 1851! Edward is now 6 and shown as John's son. I note that a 2nd Edward John was born in the Maidstone district in the 1st quarter 1854 Vol 2A-408 so it seems that the first Edward may have died but I cannot find evidence of this. If there were two Edward Johns did they have the same parents?

Perhaps this is connected?

- another researcher on genesreunited says that this George (1800-1879) married to a Susannah (1807-1879) with 7 children: Sarah (1829), George (1835), John (1837), Jane (1841), Susanna (1842), Rachel (1844 who married Thomas Smith), and Elizabeth (1847). Rachel’s daughter Marianne E Smith (1884-1961) married a George White Baker [see IGI batch I00784-7 Dymchurch for some of the christenings]

Some suggest that George’s wife was Susanna Reesby. But perhaps more likely, could he have married Susannah Woodgate in Dymchurch:

There were several baptism in Dymchurch for children of George and Susannah: George 1835, John 1836, Louisa Mary 1839, Jane 1841, Susannah 1843, Rachel 1845 and Elizabeth 1848

- A family tree Ancestral file submission - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.2.1/3SXG-9DJ - has more detail and more sources for Rachel and her parents George Boorman (born abt 1793 Headcorn) and Susannah Reesby (abt 1808 Wingham Kent), and lists 9 children for them (Sarah, George, John, John, Jane, Jane, Susannah, Rachel and Elizabeth - some duplication apparent). In spite of the different birth for George (1793, not 1800), this tree also claims his parents to be William Boorman and Elizabeth Wood (although they have an Elizabeth also born 1793]. They list 13 children for daughter Rachel who married Thomas McRobert Smith Sr. , with further descendants for 7 of them.
They cite the 1841, 1851, 1861 (all in Dymchurch) and ancestry trees as sources for George. But the 1861 census shows the George (age 60) with wife Suzannah living in Dymchurch (as above) - so where did the birth year of “abt 1793” come from? Looking in more detail, this tree has 2 sons named George, both born to William Boorman and Elizabeth Wood: 1) George (abgt 1793-<1871) and 2: George (1800-1879) - this is most unusual (although perhaps not unheard of) but stretches believability. The baptism they have for the Geoge in 1800 lists different parents [s/o Samuel and Elizabeth] I think there is a mixup here and errors abound - everyone is having similar troubles with this lineage. We are still lacking the complete picture here.
ALSO
- Another Familysearch family tree Ancestral file submission - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.2.1/3SXG-912 - lists this George, baptised 20 Jul 1800 with parents William Boorman and Elizabeth Wood (but this doesn’t match the parents listed on this baptism record). Stated sources are Tyler Index (Kent) on ancestry, and ancestry family trees - no primary sources, and no spouse or children listed for this George.
I don’t consider either of these trees reliable (:
