- George had some illnesses for the rest of his life, due to injuries sustained during WWI, and died at a somewhat young age in the mid-60's.
- Portrait of George has been damaged and re-taped due to wear and tear. It was given to his youngest son before the son was sent off to the Korean War.
- He never remarried, but did live with a woman named Katie MacIntyre (sic?) from the 1940's until his death.
