RESEARCH NOTES
- 1880 census - she was likely married to a Smith at this time - there are several possibilities in Ohio including:
1) Mary E Smith (b 1855 Ohio) and Charles F Smith (age 33 Penn.) and son Curtis V Smith (age 7, Ohio) living in Liberty Logan Ohio
2) Mary E Smith (b 1856 Ohio) and Melker Smith (age 27 Ohio) and daughter Ettie E Smith (age 0 Ohio) living in Clinton Seneca Ohio)
3) etc - too many to list, and even more in other states.
Mary E first married SMITH. Born ca 1850.

- Died or divorced before 1888, when wife remarried
- Did they have children?
On 13 Nov 1888 when Mary E was 33, she second married Francis M PIERCE in Northampton, Massachusetts, USA. Born in 1818 in Goshen, Massacusetts, USA.

RESEARCH NOTES
- sometimes indexed as Albert Beecher
- This 1900 household doesn’t make sense. Ella is not male - 2 female heads? or is Josephine the same as son Joseph in 1870 census [should have been daughter Josephine]??? Is this Ella, Roxana’s / Rosina’s daugher? OR Elbert Beecher? Can’t find references to Bercher in other years - perhaps phonetically written with errors? [Yes - see death record for Helen Josephine Beecher]:

1216. Frank OR Henry? WHITE (Roxana “Roxy” DENMAN11, John10, Ann BOORMAN9, William8, William7, William6, Elizabeth HAYWARD5, Margaret BOORMAN4, William3, John2, John1). Born abt 1859 in Ohio, USA.

- 1870 USA census, living in Ohio in a family household (assumed parents and siblings):
Frank White M 11y Ohio

RESEARCH NOTES
- the 1870 census contains other errors, and it seems odd to have both a Frank and then a daughter Frances bprm 1861 who later went by “Frankie”???? Can’t find family in 1860 which might help clarify this.
- a Frank White is listed as the father of the bride Frances A White age 21 (b 1888 Anderson Ferry, Hamilton Co Ohio) (no mother listed) on her marriage to William Hess (b1883 Anderson Ferry, Hamilton Co Ohio, son of Chas V Hess and Elizabeth Zurveller) in Hamilton, Ohio on 24 Apr 1909
- a Frank White is listed as the father of the bride Laura Belle White who married George Woodard in Springfield, Clark Co Ohio ion 2 Jan 1890 by license - no further details
- another researcher lists a child as Henry (instead of Frank), but no further details
1217. Frances “Frankie” WHITE (Roxana “Roxy” DENMAN11, John10, Ann BOORMAN9, William8, William7, William6, Elizabeth HAYWARD5, Margaret BOORMAN4, William3, John2, John1). RESEARCH NOTES
- from another researcher: [looking for information on] Lyle Sinclair. ... Pearl, believe it or not, is a male.  He is referred to as such in my Grandfather's diary.  I personally did not know Pearl or his twin Earl, but had met Lyle on occasion when I was smaller.  Frances, was known as Aunt Frankie and had a farm on Laylin Road just east of Norwalk, Ohio.  I believe my grandfather said they had some property in Florida where they owned an orange grove.
- 1870 USA census, NOT listed with parents and siblings in Ohio
- was there another daughter Agnes Sinclair, born 1886 in Brillian, Jefferson Ohio to a John Sinclair and Frances, who married a Charles A Miller in 1906 in Jefferson Ohio???
- there is almost a decade gap between children - likely some are missing?
Frances “Frankie” married John Alexander SINCLAIR. Born in Nov 1845 in Scotland. John Alexander died bef 1920; he was 74.
