“Mrs. Anna E. Miller
“Anna Elizabeth West was born near Plainfield, Iowa, on Nov 13, 1861 and died Feb 4, 1933, at Mercy hospital, Waverly. She was on of the four children of Orrin and Nancy West, the only survivor being a brother, Amos, who lives in Waverly.
“On Dec 27, 1883, she was married to John Miller, and they spent the years of their married life in the vicinity of Plainfield until he died Jan 16, 1908. Since that time she has lived most of the time with some one of her children. Her family consisted of six children, all of whom are living and were to be present a her funeral. They are Orin W. of Plainfield, William D of Grundy Center, Marion L. of Eldora, Arthur D. of Plainfield, Carlyle M. of Clarksville, and Kenneth J. of Adron, Ohio. There are also 19 grandchildren.
“Mrs. Milller joined the Methodist church of Plainfield nearly 40 years ago, and during all this time has been a faithful member and has been a consistnt Christian in her every-day living.
“Mrs. Miller has not been in good health for several years and had been in the hospital several times in recent years. She died from an attack of bronchial pneumonia.
“Funeral services were held in the Plainfield Methodist church Tuesday, Feb 7, in charge of the pastor, Rev. A.S. Watson, with Miss Ploy Good at the piano. Internment was in Willow Lawn cemetery.”

“Funeral services for Amos Porter West were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Waverly at 2:00 o’clock, with Rev. Marion L. SSunderlin officiating. Burial was in Plainfield.
“Mr. West became sick five weeks ago and had been in the hospital for the past four weeks. He died Friday, Oct 11.
“Amos Porter West was born in Plainfield, Feb. 8, 1865. He was the youngest child of Orrin and Nancy Townsend West. The other children were Hattie, Anna, and a baby who died in infancy.
“Farming was his occupation, living in the vicinity of Plainsfield, and with the exception of two yeas spent outside the county, he lived all of his life here. Hed moved to Waverly in the year 1918.
“He was united in marriage to Miss Inez Metcalf of Plainfield, Sep. 12, 1893. She died in the year 1916. On Sep 8, 1923 he was united in marriage to Mis Charity Martha Hill at Saverly. She passed away Jan 29, 1929. There wer no children to either union.
“When a young man of 18 years of age he united with the Methodost [sic] Episcopal church of Plainfield. When he came to Waverly he transferred his membership to the First Methodist church here and remained a member until the time of his death.
“He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge for more than 25 years and held his membership in Willow Lawn lodge. Hhe [sic] was a member of the Rebekah lodge for more than 23 years and help membership in Steven Stars 390.
“Besides a niece, Miss Harriet Miller, who had made her home with him for the past three years there are other nieces and nephews of his family to survive.”
On 12 Sep 1893 when Amos Porter was 28, he first married Inez METCALF in Plainfield, Bremer, Iowa, USA. Born ca 1865. Inez died in 1916; she was 51.
They had no children.
On 8 Sep 1923 when Amos Porter was 58, he second married Charity Martha HILL in Waverly, Bremer, Iowa, USA. Born ca 1865. Charity Martha died in probably Waverly, Bremer, Iowa, USA, on 29 Jan 1929; she was 64.
