Twelfth Generation (Continued)
Family of Sarah AVERY (651) & William CHAMBERS
1050. Sarah CHAMBERS (Sarah AVERY11, Sarah JENNER10, George9, James8, Mary BOORMAN7, William6, Robert5, William4, Alexander3, John2, John1). Born in 1830 in Bonnington, Kent, England.
1051. Mary Ann CHAMBERS (Sarah AVERY11, Sarah JENNER10, George9, James8, Mary BOORMAN7, William6, Robert5, William4, Alexander3, John2, John1). Born in 1832 in Bonnington, Kent, England. Mary Ann died in Lyminge, Elham, Kent, England, in 1875; she was 43.

From another researcher:
- She could not write her name in 1852 in registering daughter Sarah's birth although her wedding certificate does not note she made her mark by her name. She had her first child when she was 16. She is on the 1851, 1861 and 1871 Censuses with the family. She died in 1874 aged 43 from 'inflammation of the lungs'. The death was notified by Amy Waters of Lyminge. I have found 3 younger sisters of Mary Ann and a younger brother. 8 children listed.
On 7 Oct 1848 when Mary Ann was 16, she married George CHITTENDEN, son of George CHITTENDEN & Elizabeth MITCHELL, in Burmarsh, Kent, England. Born in 1831 in Burmarsh, Kent, England. Christened on 20 Nov 1831. George died in West Hyth, Kent, England, in 1908; he was 77.

From another researcher:
- Son of George Chittenden and Elizabeth Mitchell; brother of Mary Ann Nye Chittenden 1830, Thomas Chittenden 1833, Sarah E Chittenden 1836, James Chittenden 1838, Anna Maria Chittenden 1843 and Henrietta J Chittenden 1845.
- He was number 2 of 7 children I have found. He was a shepherd when he married in 1848. On the 1851 Census he was a 19 year old shepherd in Dymchurch, along with Mary Ann, also 19 and 3 year old Henrietta and Thomas, ? 6 months. On the 1861 Census he was a 29 year old shepherd in Burmarsh. The 1871 Census has George in Fairfield, Kent, aged 39 and an ag lab. The 1881 Census has George Chittenden living as a boarder with Charles Tyrrell in St Mary Virgin in the Marsh. He is listed as widower and an ag lab, born in Burmarsh, age 47. This fits exactly. On 1891 Census he was a 59 year old lodger with William and Ellen Conley at Lympne, Hythe and a farm labourer born in Burmarsh. On the 1901 Census he was a 69 year old shepherd living in Hythe, born in Burmarsh. He died in 1908 of 'morbus cordis syncope', aged 76, a shepherd in West Hythe. The death was registered by his son George of West Hill Farm, Hythe.
