Died, At Greenwood on Friday, October 4th, Lucy Grace Wood, beloved wife of Alfred Tremble. The late Mrs. Tremble was born in England [a] little over 68 years ago, and came to Canada a bride about 40 years ago, locating in Kinsale. After spending some four years there, she and her husband moved to this village [Greenwood] where they have remained ever since Mrs. Tremble was a very active woman all her life and will be very much missed in the home as well as in the community. She was a member of the W. M. S, the Ladies Aid, and at one time a Sunday School teacher. Two years ago failing health necessitated a medical examination resulting in an operation which proved unsuccessful and from which she suffered intensely until her death. She leaves to mourn her loss, a husband and three children Mrs. C. Wilson of Brooklin, Mrs. W. Sadler of Greenwood, and Ernest, at home, besides a sister, Mrs Lang of St. Thomas, and three sisters and a brother who is lying at the point of death in England. On Sunday her remains were conveyed to the United Church here where the funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Smart, assisted by a former pastor, Rev. J.W. Bunnar, of Bowmanville. After the ceremony she was taken to her final resting place at Salem Cemetery, followed by a large concourse of friends and neighbors, who extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.
