RESEARCH NOTES:
- Not found in 1901, and presumably married sometime.
- Military records - can’t find exact match on ancestry under last name GREENAWAY. The only Frederick J Greenaway listed in in the Gloucestershire Regiment (WWI Medal Rolls Index Cards) regimental number 4471, 290047). There are a number of other Frederick’s including 1 in the Army Cyclist Corps, Royal Engineers, Wiltshire Regiment, Royal Engineers (Reg No 4636, WR298104, 9794, 259072). There are a number of F Greenaway medals and awards offered regarding 1899-1902 campaigns in Burma and South Africa (likely a different FJ Greenaway who was in the Irish regiments). No pension record found on ancestry.com.
Under last name GREENWAY: there was a Frederick John Greenway (no birth year) discharged in 1919, private in Royal Sussex Regiment 2 Brewer Street Brighton Sussex - too early a discharge to be our man. Also found a typed citation lists for a F.H. Greenway in Corpos of Royal Engeers UK (bridge builders). No personal details.
