RESEARCH NOTES:
- Known as Jane, or perhaps Jean?
- I had thought that Jane Rogers was born in St. Eleanors because her father Jonathan Rogers had moved from Cape Cod to St. Eleanors and married Jane Craig of Malpeque PEI in 1858. Perhaps they travelled back to Massachusetts in the summer of 1859 for a visit?
- Legends: family may have connections to the Rogers Sugar family; may also be descended from Captain Rogers who came over (with other Roger relatives) on the Mayflower. He is “credited” with scalping the natives / indians, so in turn the indians started scalping the white man.
