RESEARCH NOTES
- according to 1855 NY census, son Charles is listed as Charles Mayborn, step-son to Edwin Boorman. Similarly a second stepson with last name of Orr is listed:
Stepson Henry Orr M 13 [or 19?], step son, b. Ry?, 1 yr in area
Did Mary have 2 previous relationships? Due to order of listed names, could Henry Orr be stepson of the laberer Henty Grennis?

- from another researcher on ancestry [no doubt based on the 1855 NY census]:
BOORMAN, Edwin spouse of Mary O born 1818 died 1898
BOORMAN, Mary Orr spouse of Edwin born 1805 died 1897

- How many of the children attributed to Edwin Boorman were actually from Mary’s previous marriage(s)?
From http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nychauta/CEMETERY/Mansion.htm:
Mansion Road Cemetery, Sherman, NY
On the Jesse Mansion Farm on the hill side is a small clump of trees in which is 1 small marker still standing.
1. Joseph, son of J. and E. Boorman, died March 2, 1857, age 1 year.
Down the road is where the Mayborne family lived. The house burned on Christmas day a few years ago. For a walk, face down were markers taken from the above clump of trees. Since the walk was bull-dozed over, there were only pieces of markers left.
1. Mary - dau. of C & M [does this stand for Charles and Mary Maybourne?]
2. Margaret
3. ___ Maybourne d. Aug 2, 1853, age 22 years. [b about 1831]
"Upon her lips sweet council develt
and in her heart pure love
and reigns with him above."
The Maybourne Girls mother married Edwin Boorman.

Mary Kidder tells me the Boormans went west and wrote letter to have the bodies moved into town on the Boorman lot.

The dates are different so I think this is a different person and mis-indexed.

* Hill was the last name of the person on the previous line: Hill, Henry U - below this name, but above the name of Sparkes, Thomas M it says “Charlotte J HIll, widow of” - I think this was recorded on the wrong line, as there really is a Charlotte hill married to a veteran Henry Hill in the NY 1892 census** - what a coincidence that Thomas’s wife was also named Charlotte - don’t think the same one remarried as our Charlotte was buried with Thomas Sparks as his wife ???

This is probably this other Benjamin who also married an Elizabeth and continued to live in Wisconsin?:

- is this the same person as William Henry Boorman born 1838 Hollingbourne Kent, possible son of the other Benjamin Boorman and his wife Elizabeth Crouch??? If so he ended up in Minnesota.
